Greensboro Elementary School experienced a truly special moment in its arts programming this month when it was named to the first national cohort of Disney’s Musicals in Schools: Stage Connect. The program, designed to expand access to musical‑theatre education, selected fewer than 100 schools across the country for its inaugural year.

The celebration grew even more memorable when Disney videographers, on site to capture rehearsal footage, paused their work to welcome an unexpected visitor: Mickey Mouse, who arrived unannounced to greet the student cast. The character spent time watching the rehearsal, meeting performers, handing out small Mickey plush toys, and taking photos with students and staff.

The visit created an atmosphere of excitement and inspiration, marking the beginning of GES’s participation in the Stage Connect program.

Further information about the school’s upcoming Disney KIDS production will be released soon.
