Dear GES Families,
We hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful summer filled with time together, relaxation, and maybe even a few adventures!
July 1st was the first official day for the new administrative team at Greensboro Elementary School, and we couldn't be more excited to begin this journey with you. While students are enjoying a well-deserved summer break, we've already begun preparing for what promises to be an exciting 2026-2027 school year.
Allow me to briefly introduce myself. My name is A.J. Angeloni, and I am honored to serve as the next Principal of Greensboro Elementary School. For the past seven years, I have proudly served as Principal of Preston Elementary School, where I had the privilege of working alongside an incredible staff, students, and families to strengthen academic achievement, build a positive school culture, and create meaningful opportunities for every child. Before that, I served for four years as Assistant Principal at Ridgely Elementary School. I began my CCPS career at Lockerman Middle School for ten years as a classroom social studies teacher. Throughout my career in Caroline County Public Schools, I have believed that strong relationships, open communication, and a commitment to doing what's best for students are the foundation of every successful school. CCPS has become the home for my family and me, with our two children, Sammy and Sophia, attending CCPS schools, and my wife, Susan, working in the county as a Pre-K Coach and Specialist. We are all excited for this next chapter at GES!
Joining me this year are Mr. Brett Evans, Assistant Principal, and Mrs. Andrea Hill, Assistant Principal. Together, we are excited to become part of the GES community and look forward to partnering with our outstanding staff and wonderful families as we begin this new chapter. Mr. Evans and Mrs. Hill will be introducing themselves soon as well, so please watch our social media channels!
One thing you'll quickly notice about our administrative team is that we believe communication is essential. Throughout the school year, we want our families to feel informed, connected, and involved in everything happening at GES.
To help with that, you can expect parent newsletters throughout the summer, with editions planned for mid-July, late July, and again in August. These newsletters will provide important GES updates, reminders, and information to help everyone prepare for the start of school. These newsletters will also include information about a Meet the New Administration Team and Title I Information Night, which will be scheduled in early August. We are looking forward to hopefully seeing many of our families there!
We are also planning for our annual GES Summer Electronic Mailing to be sent during the week of August 17-20. This mailing will include student classroom assignments, Meet the Teacher and Back-to-School Night information, transportation details, school supply reminders, and many of the important items families traditionally receive before the first day of school.
Finally, we're especially excited that this year's school theme is "Oh, the Places You'll Go!"
As we begin this new school year together, that theme couldn't feel more appropriate. Every school year is a new adventure filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and create lasting memories. Our goal is to ensure every student feels known, every family feels welcomed, and every child is challenged, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Thank you for welcoming us into the Greensboro Elementary community. We are honored to serve your children and can't wait to meet each of you in the weeks ahead.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, have a very happy 4th of July Weekend (250th birthday!) and we'll be in touch soon!
Adventure awaits!
