The ace spellers were calm and cool (the audience was stressed!) as 10 rounds were conducted. Congrats also to 2nd place winner #DESDolphin Marlo Pritchett and 3rd place #GESHornet Izabelle Porter. As all contestants were reminded, they were already spelling champions in their schools!

Monday, October 31st at 9:30AM is our annual Halloween parade. Parents may observe the parade from the school parking lot. Parents are encouraged to park at the Volunteer Fire Department across the highway to avoid creating a traffic jam.

GES will be honoring the Hispanic Holiday of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Tuesday November 1, 2022. This Celebration is a happy holiday focused on deceased loved ones, keeping their memories alive, and celebrating the continuation of life beyond the one we live here on Earth. We are inviting all students and staff to bring in one picture of a loved one who has passed away to be displayed on our school wide ofrenda!
A copy of the photo is due tomorrow Friday, October 28th. Please write your students name and homeroom teacher on the back of the photo so it can be returned. You may also text or email the photo to Mrs. MacFarland 301-541-7322 or Macfarland.colleen@ccpsstaff.org
