🐝🌟 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at GES! 🌟🐝 Today, Greensboro Elementary was honored to host a beautiful and meaningful Quinceañera Parade as part of our National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations! Our students had the opportunity to learn about the rich cultural tradition of the quinceañera, a special coming-of-age celebration that honors a young woman's transition into adulthood. The elegant dresses, proud smiles, and cultural pride on display created an unforgettable experience for our entire school community. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Randall Butler (Club Sponsor), Mr. Matt Spiker and the North Caroline High School administration, the student officers of the NCHS SOUL organization, and, most importantly, the incredible students who participated in today's event. Many of our elementary students were excited to see former GES students and older siblings proudly representing their culture and sharing this special tradition with us.

⚽⚾ What a Great Spirit Day, Hornets!⚾⚽ Today, our students and staff brought the energy and school spirit for Fútbol & Baseball Jersey Spirit Day! As part of our celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we proudly wore our favorite jerseys to honor the rich traditions, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. From the soccer pitch to the baseball diamond, our Hornets showed that sports have the power to connect us, celebrate diversity, and bring people together. 💚🐝 Our first Buddy Day of the year was a huge success! Today, older and younger grade levels teamed up for a shared activity, built new connections, and strengthened the school family we value at Greensboro Elementary. Buddy Day is an important part of our PBIS and Conscious Discipline efforts, helping our Hornets learn, lead, and grow together. We loved seeing everyone in red today and can't wait for many more Buddy Days throughout the year!

Grade 3–5 students stepped into leadership today as they presented their Student Government Association campaign speeches to their classmates! Each candidate designed their own slideshow, wrote their own speech, and confidently shared their ideas for making GES even better. After each grade-level election, students cast their votes and made their voices heard. We are so proud of every student who had the courage to run for office and put their leadership skills on display! 💚 Congratulations to all of our candidates, and good luck as we await election results next week!

Together! ❤️✈️🐝 At Greensboro Elementary, we're excited to launch our monthly Buddy Day program, a PBIS initiative designed to strengthen relationships and build our Hornet Family across grade levels! On Monday, September 28, our older students will team up with younger Hornets for a special activity centered around friendship, leadership, and school community. These monthly experiences allow students to connect, learn from one another, and create lasting memories together. For our first Buddy Day, we invite everyone to wear red as we celebrate friendship and the exciting journey of learning side by side!

🐝 **Congratulations to our Greensboro Elementary School representatives for the 2026 CCPS Countywide Spelling Bee!** After all of our fifth graders competed in a schoolwide spell-off last week and our finalists faced off in a final competition today, we are proud to announce our top finishers: **1st Place – Josue Domingo Mendez, 2nd Place – Keari Bell, 3rd Place – Olivia Vanskiver, and Alternate – Mason Fuentes.** We are incredibly proud of all of our fifth-grade students and can’t wait to cheer on our representatives at the Countywide Spelling Bee on October 22 at the Caroline County Public Library in Denton! 📚🐝✨
