Congratulations to Piper Daffin for being chosen as the PES Book Reviewer of the Week! The book that she gave a 4 star review for is the book I Survived the Attacks of September 11, 2001 by Lauren Tarshis. When a football concussion benches Lucas, the son of a New York City firefighter, he skips school, goes downtown to the firehouse to be with his uncle, and is caught in the devastation following the attack on the Twin Towers. Piper liked the book because it was very exciting and interesting to learn about what happened on that day. You can find this book in the Fiction section of the library. We also have it as a graphic novel. Congratulations Piper! #PESReads #pespantherpride

Congrats to Mrs. Jen Piasecki on being our staff member of the week! Mrs. Piasecki is a fantastic Kindergarten teacher and is rocking it with our little Panthers! We admire how poised, confident, and caring Mrs. Piasecki is each and every day, and her little Panthers are flourishing and clearly love school (and her!). The first years of school are so important, and Mrs. Piasecki is setting so many of our students up for a lifetime of success with her kindness, skill in the classroom, and compassion for our kids. Thank you for all you do!

Next Friday, May 26, PES will be holding our PES Career Day for our Panthers, and it will feature our wonderful students at the Caroline County Career and Technology Center (CCTC) and the job skills they are learning, and visits from our K-9 unit from the Caroline County Sheriff's Department! We are inviting all students to dress up for the event as the career they want to be one day. Hats are certainly welcome, although we please ask no toys, props, etc. Thank you!

Congratulations to this weeks PES PAWSITIVE Referral recipients! Evan, Scarlet, Nathalie, Paige, Nathan, and Randall are doing a great job! These students are showing their PAWS each and every day! #pespantherpride

K is for “Kick Off Your Shoes” Day! Our Kindergarten Panthers showed up their cool socks today as the ABC Countdown continues! #pespantherpride

Our Panther Singers, Chorus, Band, and Orchestra had their in school concert today for all of their classmates! They were so excited to perform for their friends, after performing for their families last week! Thank you for all of your hard work, and for sharing your music with us! And thank you to Mr. List for another job well done. 🎼🎵🎤🎸🥁 #pespantherpride

Our Pre-K 4-year-old Panthers released their butterflies today! We watched them grow and change from caterpillars, and took care of them until they were ready to fly! Science and insects in action! #pespantherpride

G is for Games! Our Kindergarten went old school today with some tabletop and board games to continue the ABC Countdown celebration! #pespantherpride

Congratulations to Lennox Swann for being chosen as the PES Book Reviewer of the Week! The book that she gave a 5 star review for is the book Middle School - The Worst Years of My Life by James Patterson. Sixth-grader Rafe’s first day of school is horrendous. Friendless except for his imaginary pal, Leo, he zones out during the recitation of the school’s code of conduct, setting himself the goal of breaking every rule before the end of the year. Yikes! Lennox loved the book because she is going to middle school next year! Rafe was bullied at school but he had a good friend that helped him. She thought that was one of the best themes of the book. You can find this book in the Fiction section of the library. Congratulations Lennox! #PESReads #pespantherpride

Congratulations to this weeks PES PAWSITIVE Referral recipients! Kayden, Emerson, Jasmyn, Ayva, Cayden, and Lainey are doing a great job! These students are showing their PAWS each and every day! #pespantherpride
